Scott Arcangel composes music for and performs on piano with a variety of jazz and commercial music ensembles. He also plans live and broadcast events, as well as arranging and producing studio recordings with the West Point Band, where he is a Pianist, Arranger, Music Director, and Creative Producer.
Before joining the West Point Band, Scott studied with the renowned jazz faculty at the University of North Texas and at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music. He has studied composition and arranging with Bret Zvacek and Michael Abene.
His music is published through Maxwell Tree Music and UNC Jazz Press and is performed regularly by numerous big bands, small groups, high school and collegiate jazz ensembles. Most recently, his music has been featured on performances with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Pops and Chappaqua orchestras. His most recent arrangements, in addition to the West Point Band’s jazz groups, have been for Claudio Roditi and Stefon Harris.
