Tyler Summers is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he spent two years playing with the GRAMMY Award-winning One O’Clock Lab Band. An active musician and arranger in the Nashville music scene, his ability on saxophones, clarinet, and flute have put him on the stage with highly respected artists including Aretha Franklin, Martina McBride, Gladys Knight, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Feist, Jakob Dylan, Spoon, Gloria Gaynor, Estelle, The O’Jays, 5th Dimension, The Raconteurs, Natalie Grant, Lee Ann Womack, B.Reith, and Tom “Bones” Malone.
He has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Today Show, VH1 The Buzz, Kelly & Michael, The Dove Awards, and the Canadian Country Music Awards. In 2008, he was commissioned to arrange and perform a version of “Oh Canada” in Beijing prior to the opening of the Beijing Olympics.
Tyler remains active as a session musician, arranger and woodwind specialist in the studio, appearing on over 60 albums in the last 3 years alone. He has recorded for the likes of Jill Scott, Brendan Benson, Julie Roberts, Lissie and Nine Days, among others, and for producers such as Ken Scott (The Beatles, Elton John), and Aaron Pearce (Celine Dion, Jonny Lang) .
