Matt MacDougall is a guitarist and composer from Atlantic Canada, specializing in various styles of music including jazz, fusion, rock and others. His abilities as a guitarist and composer have led him to many great opportunities in the jazz world, including performances at the Ottawa Jazz Festival, Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, the Kennedy Center Millenium Stage, to name a few.
Matt released his debut album as a leader, Familiar Faces, in September of 2012 on Armored Records, which was nominated for Canada’s 2012 East Coast Music Awards Jazz Recording of the Year. His sophomore album, Boy Goes To City, featuring saxophonist Jeff Coffin, was released in May 2015 and is available now on iTunes.
